Adopt Pi

Pi is a late teen-twenties year-old standard jenny donkey with a personality as big as those ears. She is looking for a knowledgeable, committed home that understands donkeys are not “just pasture ornaments,” but intelligent, social animals that require proper care, companionship, and structure.

Pi is incredibly friendly, curious and sweet as, well, pie! She is VERY vocal and enjoys music and “singing” along to songs. I think she would make an excellent pet or even a therapy animal! She thoroughly enjoys eating cookies and getting scratches and groomed and has never offered to bite or kick. Gets along great with all people, horses, donkeys and goats!

The downsides:- She can be pushy- She has minimal training and is NOT halter broke.

We have been letting her take her time and relax, so her training has been minimal and therefore she needs an experienced donkey person.

Healthwise she is an easy keeper and is fat on air. This post is her pre-launch, and she needs her feet done bad. She has good strong donkey feet as far as I can tell, but they are just long. If adopted before our farrier gets here, we will cover the cost of the trim and sedative if needed. We have not fooled around with her feet yet, but will soon. I can tell that she probably will need sedative for her first few trims.

This donkey would do best in a home that:• Has other donkeys or compatible livestock (no solo homes)• Understands donkey-specific care (diet, hoof care, parasite control)• Provides secure fencing (donkeys are smart and will test boundaries)• Is prepared for a long-term commitment (donkeys can live 30+ years)

Donkeys are not small horses. They process information differently, require patience in training, and thrive with consistent, calm handling. We will prioritize homes that demonstrate experience or willingness to learn.

As always, an adoption application and contract is required. Property check and references may be required. No auctions, no resale, no breeding unless explicitly approved

Adoptions include a 24 hour trial, lifelong support and guidance, free educational classes for donkeys (if needed) and as always we will take any adopted animal back no questions asked.
