LEASES

Ever thought about living out your equestrian dreams without having to saddle up on your own horse? Leasing a horse is the budget-friendly, responsible and flexible gateway to horse ownership without the full commitment. Multiple horse discounts available!

What is Leasing?

Picture this: you get the best of both worlds, a chance to experience the joys of horse ownership without having to shoulder all the responsibilities (and costs) that come with owning a full-time equine companion. Leasing means you share the costs and responsibilities of caring for a horse with another party. Here at LUNA, we offer full and half leases!

The beauty of a half lease lies in its flexibility. Instead of being locked into a lifetime commitment, you can enjoy riding lessons, leisurely rides, or simply bonding with your horse during specified days of the week. For many young riders and urban enthusiasts, this option has emerged as an accessible alternative to full ownership, blending a passion for equestrian life with a realistic financial model.

There is a monthly fee, and you are NOT responsible for paying for costs like feed, stabling, vet care, farrier services or tack maintenance. We just have to make sure we are on the same page when it comes to horse care philosophies, riding schedules, and long-term goals for the animal’s well-being.

Some of our available lease horses!

Berry

Full Lease: $200 monthly

Partial Lease: $100 monthly

Ground Full Lease: $100 monthly

This is a super cute one folks! Berry is a sweet little grade quarter horse mare that is 12-14 years old and 14.2 hands. She's had the basics done with her and she's very lovable, straight-shooting, and smart. She is stocky and full of character.

Berry is for an experienced rider only, or for someone who has no interest in riding. She needs an advanced person who can bring her back under saddle as she is considered a project!

Cowboy

Full Lease: $300 monthly

Partial Lease: $200 monthly

Ground Lease: $100 monthly

If Cowboy were a person, he would be that innocent, chubby, boogery child that is always asking for candy. CB as we call him, is a middle aged, 16.3 hand gelding who is a retired hunter jumper. He has had some time off, but once did lessons and should be fairly simple to bring back into work. I would say he needs an intermediate to advanced rider. He only rides English, will not lease to a western rider.

Nemo

Full Lease: $400 monthly

Partial Lease: $300 monthly

Ground Full Lease: $200 monthly

Ground Partial Lease: $100 monthly

Very safe and gentle trail, therapy, lesson gelding! Nemo is such a reliable citizen and an incredibly cuddle bug. He is super safe and has a lot more woah than go to him. 12 years old, 14 hands. Perfect beginner pony and stays super healthy! The only thing that bothers him is his food being late and going fast. Also available for a show lease!

Ringo

Full Lease: $400 monthly

Partial Lease: $300 monthly

Ground Full Lease: $200 monthly

Ground Partial Lease: $100 monthly

Super cool 9-year-old, 14.2 hand, ex-eventer! If you are looking for something with speed and scope, he is your guy. On the lunge, he is excellent and perfect for all rider, but off it, he needs someone who knows what they are doing and won't get all in his face. On the ground, he is a doll and loves attention and cookies. Also available for a show lease!

Boaz

Ground Partial Lease: $80 monthly

Alright, this one is more a sponsor, unless you are looking for a cute pony to take pictures with. Bo is a 10-year-old rescue miniature horse who has very limited movement ability. His whole purpose right now is to sit tight, heal, get loved on and eat cookies. Leasing Bo would be perfect for a little kid who is afraid of horses and wants to build confidence grooming and giving him kisses.

Rocco

Full Lease: $300 monthly

Partial Lease: $200 monthly

Ground Lease: $100 monthly

Rocco is a massive 17 hand, 2000-pound Percheron gelding. He is in his mid-twenties, but I promise, you wouldn't be able to tell. Under saddle, he has a dressage background and is suitable for an intermediate rider, only because on the ground he can be a little finicky. Rocco is bonded to his friend Khalessi and can get buddy sour at times. For the most part he is very polite and has never kicked, bitten or injured anyone.
