LUNA Owner Assisted Rehoming Program
This brand-new program has plenty of space! Instead of bringing your pet to our property, you foster them in your own home while we handle the entire rehoming process!
We started this program because we are NOT taking dog surrenders at the moment due to the high influx of surrenders and lack of funding.
What is OARP?
OARP is a program that allows you to foster your pet at home while we take care of the rehoming process. We'll do the advertising, create adoption listings, screen and interview potential adopters, coordinate meet-and-greets, work the adoption process and find your furry friend the best possible loving, permanent forever home.
Think of it like having a team in your corner without having to give up your pet immediately or put them in a shelter.
How much does it cost?
Just $10! And only after your pet is adopted.
That's right. There is no upfront fee, and we start working for you right away!
Sounds too good to be true? Well, we will also keep the $100 rehoming fee we charge to the adopter.
How does it work?
1. Fill out our rehoming form! Email it back to us!
2. We create a custom adoption listing using the info you provide and photos of your dog
3. We screen, interview and select adopters, so your pet goes into a home we trust
4. We coordinate the adoption handoff. You meet the adopter, sign the transfer, and say goodbye
5. You pay the $10 fee after adoption, and we close out your file!
Requirements
For the safety of all involved, we do require that:
- Your pet is fully up to date on vaccinations and basic vet care
- Your pet is spayed or neutered
If any of these haven't been done yet, we can help arrange them at your expense, or you're welcome to take care of it with your own veterinarian.
More so, your pet must be friendly and safe to rehome and remain in your care until adopted.
